Here are the companies Yahoo Finance is watching today.
A big beat at Dropbox (DBX). The digital storage company posted stronger earnings and revenue than the street expected. It's the fourth straight quarter of earnings beats. Dropbox shares are up more than 15% year-to-date.
The picture not so bright for AMC Entertainment (AMC). The movie theater chain posted a wider than expected loss last quarter and revenue that fell from a year earlier. The CEO says they anticipated a slow start to the year but they're bullish on their prospects for the rest of 2019, thanks in part to the release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
Things are looking up at Ford (F). Bank of America Merrill Lynch just upgraded the stock to Buy, with analysts there saying the automaker's tough days are starting to fade. Ford's favorable profit outlook, thanks to its growing SUV and Truck lineup, was a major factor in the upgrade.
The Asian branch of Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) is looking to go public in Hong Kong. Budweiser Brewing Company APAC Limited is targeting a $70 billion dollar valuation. It's one of the biggest beer operations in the world and one of AB InBev's most profitable divisions, with 62 breweries across Asia and Australia.
Boston Beer (SAM) is acquiring Delaware-based Dogfish Head Brewery for $300 million dollars in a cash and stock deal. Both early craft brewers have seen slowing industry sales and hundreds of competitors. Boston Beer, brewer of Sam Adams, said the addition of Dogfish will help it compete better against global brewers, who have also been snapping up craft brands.
