COMPUTEX Issues Last Call for Tech Companies to Submit Innovations for 2017 d&i awards

TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

COMPUTEX TAIPEI, the leading global ICT show with a complete supply chain, today announced last call for companies to submit their newest ICT products for the tenth annual d&i (design and innovation) awards. The awards are organized by the Taiwan External Trade and Development Council (TAITRA) and Germany’s International Forum Design (iF).

Submission is open to all companies globally, not only COMPUTEX TAIPEI exhibitors or attendees. The award submission deadline is March 25.

This year’s d&i awards competition includes three new categories recognizing new ICT trends: Robots and Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, and AR/VR Devices + Content. The remaining six categories are: Gaming Devices & Content of Games, Cloud Communication and Storage, Systems + Mobile Communication, (Computer) Hardware + Components, Audio/Video, and Peripherals + Accessories.

COMPUTEX d&i awards provide a major stage to showcase the latest innovative capabilities relevant to global ICT companies and startups. First, the d&i awards will be presented at the COMPUTEX TAIPEI trade show opening ceremony to increase exposure for the winning companies, to help them find investors and establish partnerships. Also, winning products will display at COMPUTEX and at other major global ICT shows, including IFA, CES, MWC, Indocomtech, and COM-IT to create business opportunities in local markets.

The purpose of the d&i awards is to encourage integration of innovative applications and industrial technology development. Each year, COMPUTEX TAIPEI receives hundreds of entries, with hot new ICT products selected by a jury of top global industrial designers. Selections are based on the following five standards: innovation and elaboration, functionality, aesthetics, responsibility and positioning.

Throughout its decade-long history, the d&i awards have emerged as an index of ICT excellence. Participants include major Asian, European and North American tech companies.

For more information or to register for the d&i awards, please visit the COMPUTEX TAIPEI official website at www.computextaipei.com.tw or contact Brooke Lai at yuling@taitra.org.

The 37th annual COMPUTEX TAIPEI is scheduled from May 30th to June 3rd, 2017.

Note to Editors: The official event name is “COMPUTEX TAIPEI.” “COMPUTEX” is also acceptable.
