Ultimate Fighter Championship fighter Conor McGregor congratulated President Trump on Twitter calling him a “Phenomenal President”.

He responded to the president’s tweet marking the third anniversary from when he was sworn into office, and noting that it fell on Martin Luther King Jr Day.

McGregor added: “Quite possibly the USA 🐐”, the goat emoji referring to the expression GOAT — Greatest Of All Time.

He continued: “Most certainly one of them anyway, as he sits atop the shoulders of many amazing giants that came before him. No easy feet. Early stages of term also. Incredible. Congrats and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day America”.

Trump’s tweet reads: “It was exactly three years ago today, January 20, 2017, that I was sworn into office. So appropriate that today is also MLK jr DAY. African-American Unemployment is the LOWEST in the history of our Country, by far. Also, best Poverty, Youth, and Employment numbers, ever. Great!”

In November, the Bureau of Labor Statistics put the unemployment rate for African Americans at a record low of 5.4 per cent.

It has since crept up slightly to 5.9 per cent according to figures released on January 10th.

Trump responded to McGregor, congratulating him on his “big UFC win”.

McGregor’s return to the UFC octagon at the weekend saw him claim his first victory in mixed martial arts since 2016.

He defeated Donald Cerrone in only 40 seconds at UFC 246.
