HOUSTON (AP) _ Contango Oil & Gas Co. (MCF) on Monday reported a loss of $33.8 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of $1.16. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 11 cents per share.

The oil and gas company posted revenue of $18.7 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $121.6 million, or $4.69 per share. Revenue was reported as $77.1 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $3.59. A year ago, they were trading at $3.77.
