OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Continental Resources Inc. (CLR) on Monday reported second-quarter earnings of $236.6 million.
On a per-share basis, the Oklahoma City-based company said it had profit of 63 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 59 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 15 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 60 cents per share.
The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $1.21 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.17 billion.
Continental Resources shares have decreased 22% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $31.54, a fall of 50% in the last 12 months.
