OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Continental Resources Inc. (CLR) on Monday reported third-quarter net income of $314.2 million.
The Oklahoma City-based company said it had profit of 84 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 90 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 81 cents per share.
The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $1.28 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.21 billion.
Continental Resources shares have declined nearly 5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $50.38, a climb of 28 percent in the last 12 months.
