OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Continental Resources Inc. (CLR) on Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $197.7 million.
On a per-share basis, the Oklahoma City-based company said it had profit of 53 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 54 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 16 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 59 cents per share.
The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $1.15 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.16 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $988.3 million, or $2.64 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.71 billion.
Continental Resources shares have risen 17 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 12 percent in the last 12 months.
