Costco (COST) Gains As Market Dips: What You Should Know

Costco (COST) closed the most recent trading day at $248.90, moving +0.22% from the previous trading session. This move outpaced the S&P 500's daily loss of 0.68%. Elsewhere, the Dow lost 0.33%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 1.46%.

Coming into today, shares of the warehouse club operator had gained 1.03% in the past month. In that same time, the Retail-Wholesale sector lost 3.06%, while the S&P 500 lost 1.19%.

Investors will be hoping for strength from COST as it approaches its next earnings release, which is expected to be May 30, 2019. On that day, COST is projected to report earnings of $1.83 per share, which would represent year-over-year growth of 7.65%.
