Summer is great and all, but it also means skyrocketing AC bills and hot sweaty days. As such, I typically reward myself with a little ice cream. But the new Yasso Frozen Yogurt flavors? Those are the game-changer this season. They taste amazing AND they won't set you back calorie-wise.
The flavors, which are a lot like Yasso's OG bars, but even better, just launched and are stocked on shelves nationwide in Orange Cream, Butter Pecan, and Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl. Have we mentioned they're only a 100 cals?
The brand also debuted their Snack Buddies earlier this year. Though they're kinda, sorta intended for children (that's the marketing approach, at least), I really don't care. I will happily fill my freezer, and stomach, with boxes worth of froyo bars.
"The current novelty options available and marketed towards kids are largely water-based, packed with sugar, and filled with artificial flavors and sweeteners," Co-founder and co-CEO, Amanda Klane said in a statement. "Snack Buddies exists to fill that void and deliver an option for parents seeking healthier snacks for their children that can be enjoyed by the whole family."
According to the press release, they have 25 percent less sugar, 10 more protein, no high fructose corn syrup or high intensity sweeteners. Also, get this-they're only 45 to 50 calories. That's half the original and new flavors. The Snack Buddies come in boxes of eight and are available in four varieties: Mint Cookie Chums, Fudge Space Chip, Party Animal, and Strawbuddy Lemonade.
Need to stock up because of aforementioned summer side effects, Costco is also selling a 15-pack of the Yasso Mint Chocolate Chip bars. Though the discount retailer hasn't adopted any of the new flavors yet, we'll take what we can get.
