COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Sept. 9, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

  • 875 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,184,448*;

  • 30 new deaths, for a total of 16,471 deaths, i.e.;

  • 3,641 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);

  • 1,594 hospitalizations, including 568 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 44 compared to the previous day;

  • 30 people in intensive care, including 19 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 1 compared to the previous day;

  • 12,127 samples conducted on September 7;

  • 285,584 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 239,264 positive: 152 declared for yesterday, including 124 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

  • 16,447 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 20,861,789 doses received by Quebecers.
