The Lebanon, Tennessee-based company said it had net income of $1.96 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.91 per share.
The restaurant operator posted revenue of $733.5 million in the period.
Cracker Barrel shares have climbed 10 percent since the beginning of the year.
