Credicorp: 1Q Earnings Snapshot

HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Credicorp Ltd. (BAP) on Thursday reported first-quarter profit of $331.2 million.

The bank, based in Hamilton, Bermuda, said it had earnings of $4.15 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $4.14 per share.

The Peruvian finance company posted revenue of $1.29 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $1.04 billion, which fell short of Street forecasts.

Credicorp shares have climbed slightly more than 7% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed nearly 4% in the last 12 months.
