CTC Media channels win tender offer in Russia for digital multiplex

CTC Media announced that the CTC and Domashny channels have won a tender to be included in the second digital multiplex. The results of the tender were announced by the Russian Federal Surveillance Service for Mass Media and Communications. There were a total of ten winners out of the 18 channels taking part in the tender. CTC Media submitted applications for all three of the company's Russian free-to-air channels. CTC Media must now make a one-off license fee payment of 36 million rubles per channel and sign a broadcasting contract with Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network, the operator of the multiplex, for the entire 10-year period of the digital broadcasting license. The contract must be signed within the next three months.
