WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Curo Group Holdings Corp. (CURO) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $27.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Wichita, Kansas-based company said it had net income of 60 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, were 71 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 57 cents per share.
The consumer finance company posted revenue of $297.3 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $299.7 million.
Curo Group expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.75 to $2.85 per share, with revenue expected to be $1.15 billion.
Curo Group shares have increased 30% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $12.36, a decline of 46% in the last 12 months.
