Customers Want Banks to Be Connected With Manilla

Nearly Half of Manilla Users Anticipate That Their Bank Bill Pay Usage Would Increase If the Service Were Integrated Within Their Bank's Website, According to User Data

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 23, 2013) - New data released from account management service Manilla.com (www.manilla.com) revealed that 84 percent of Manilla users prefer online statements to traditional paper mail, according to an October survey. Earlier data from a Q1 2013 Manilla survey showed that 65 percent find it easier to visit their financial service provider's website through Manilla's aggregated, partner-friendly experience, which is designed to simplify and organize consumers' bills and accounts. This consumer data demonstrates that the Manilla digital organization service is addressing a growing consumer need for solutions that simplify their lives and that an opportunity exists for banks to leverage Manilla to increase consumer engagement.

Additionally, data from the user survey showed that:

  • The majority of users have elected to receive 75 percent or more of their statements electronically, in place of paper statements

  • 70 percent of respondents use online bank bill pay

  • 42 percent expect that their bank bill pay usage would increase if Manilla were integrated within their bank's website

  • Manilla users rated "having your bills located in one central location" as a 4.6 on a convenience scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being not at all convenient and 5 being extremely convenient

"This survey indicates that consumers value the 'everything in one place' paperless experience that Manilla provides and would like to see Manilla incorporated into bank bill pay sites," said Jim Schinella, CEO of Manilla. "From the very beginning, we felt that Manilla's powerful digital mail capabilities fit naturally inside a bank experience. The impact of Manilla inside AOL, a partnership we recently announced, coupled with this survey data highlights an opportunity for Manilla to partner with banks to improve the online banking experience."
