CVR Energy appoints new finance chief

SUGAR LAND, Texas (AP) -- CVR Energy Inc. said Friday that it has appointed Susan M. Ball as finance chief and treasurer for its oil refinery and fertilizer manufacturing companies.

Ball will replace Frank A. Pici, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. She will take over Aug. 7.

Ball has been with the Sugar Land, Texas, company for more than six years, most recently as vice president, chief accounting officer and assistant treasurer for CVR Energy and CVR GP, the general partner of CVR Partners LP.

CVR Partners LP owns and operates the fertilizer business.

Shares of CVR Energy rose 44 cents to close at $28.21 and added a penny in after-hours trading. CVR Partners rose $1.03, or 4.3 percent, to end at $24.96 per share.
