Darden Restaurants (DRI) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

Darden Restaurants (DRI) closed the most recent trading day at $118.47, moving -0.71% from the previous trading session. This change lagged the S&P 500's 0.66% loss on the day. Elsewhere, the Dow lost 1.01%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.55%.

Coming into today, shares of the owner of Olive Garden and other chain restaurants had gained 7.54% in the past month. In that same time, the Retail-Wholesale sector gained 1.42%, while the S&P 500 gained 1.77%.

Investors will be hoping for strength from DRI as it approaches its next earnings release, which is expected to be December 19, 2019. The company is expected to report EPS of $1.07, up 16.3% from the prior-year quarter. Meanwhile, our latest consensus estimate is calling for revenue of $2.06 billion, up 4.29% from the prior-year quarter.
