Darren Sproles scores wiggling TD, hands ball to Mike Trout
Darren Sproles has been playing for the Philadelphia Eagles for what feels like five decades, and he can still bring the heat. Case in point: this play against the Houston Texans midway through the first quarter on Sunday, when Sproles wiggled and wobbled his way to a 37-yard touchdown.
Note who Sproles tosses the ball to: baseball icon and Philly fan Mike Trout. The Los Angeles Angels perennial All-Star is a hardcore Eagles fan; earlier this season, he sent much of the team branded Nike cleats, and he shouted out the Eagles during the All-Star Game.
Trout is close friends with injured Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, and although he’s under contract with the Angels through 2021, his deep Philly fandom has people believing the Phillies will make a run at him then. And Darren Sproles will probably still be scoring touchdowns for the Eagles then, too.
