Data Shows More Physicians Using Mobile Devices

iPhone and iPad Remain Most Used Platforms

PARSIPPANY, NJ--(Marketwire - March 20, 2013) - New data from BulletinHealthcare shows that more than five in 10 healthcare professionals access medical news and information on smartphones and tablets. BulletinHealthcare, which is the leading provider of daily eNewsBriefings to more than 550,000 healthcare professionals, including 400,000 physicians, belonging to 25 leading medical associations, examined mobile device usage among its audience from January 2012 to January 2013.

The analysis found that doctors' mobile consumption of medical news grew by more than 25%. Today, more than 52% of the HCPs who open and read BulletinHealthcare's custom eNewsBriefings do so on either smart phones or tablet devices as opposed to 42% in January 2012.

"The highest daily mobile open rates in the industry allow pharma brand messages to reach their target audiences across multiple platforms and all screens," BulletinHealthcare VP of Sales Rob Bedford said. "In this environment it is key to be where your target HCPs are during their busy day."

The eNewsBriefings, which serve as a highly valued member benefit for HCPs, are mostly opened and accessed on either an iPhone or iPad. Combined, the two Apple products captured more than nearly 94% of all mobile device usage for BulletinHealthcare followed by the Android platform, used by 6% of HCPs who read the eNewsBriefings on mobile devices. The figures remain mostly unchanged from January 2012 when 93% of physicians used iPhone and iPad and 7% used Android devices.
