David Robertson feels sympathy pain after Gary Sanchez hit in groin

If you believe in team chemistry, the New York Yankees are going to win the World Series. The players on the team are so close that they feel each other’s pain.

That was on display during the American League wild-card game Tuesday night. In the sixth inning, reliever David Robertson delivered a pitch to Brian Dozier. The second baseman just got a piece of the pitch, sending it off course from Gary Sanchez’s glove and directly into his groin.

There were replays.

You can’t see it in the above clip, but Robertson reacted the same way as you when he saw Sanchez get hit.

The whole sequence led to possibly the best baseball image of the 2017 season.

We don’t want to make light of Sanchez’s situation, so we’ll let you know that he stayed in the game. We’re guessing tomorrow won’t be fun, even if the Yankees win the game. At the time of that play, New York led 7-4 after an Aaron Judge home run. They added another run in the seventh, pushing the lead to 8-4. They would eventually win the game by that score.

In summary:

We can’t top that, so we won’t even try.
