Dealers United Selected as 2017 USF Fast 56 Award Recipient

SARASOTA, Fla., March 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dealers United, an organization dedicated to helping automotive dealerships save time, cut costs and sell more cars, was recently selected as a 2017 University of South Florida's (USF) Fast 56 Award recipient. The USF Fast 56 program identifies, recognizes and celebrates the success of the world's 56 fastest growing USF alumni owned or led businesses. The USF Alumni Association will honor the 2017 Fast 56 on Friday, April 28, in the Marshall Student Center Ballroom and Oval Theater at USF Tampa.

Multiple Dealers United employees, including CEO, Pete Petersen, are proud to call themselves USF Alumni. Petersen graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2015 and has since worked closely with USF to help facilitate hands-on learning for students in corporate environments.

"It's an honor for Dealers United to be recognized by the University of South Florida for the growth of our business," said Petersen. "This wouldn't have been possible without our team. We have a great core team that has put in the blood, sweat and tears to allow us to grow."

Since his start in 2014, Petersen has worked effortlessly to create a team of like-minded individuals who have one goal in mind: helping their customers succeed. This award signifies the substantial progress Dealers United has recently achieved within the automotive industry.

"Because our dealers continue to entrust us to do more and more for them digitally, we have had to hire, train, and hit the ground running…literally doubling our workforce since January 2017. We will keep investing in our customers' successes and reinvest in training and people to keep staying ahead of the ever-changing digital landscape," Petersen continued.

To be considered for the USF Fast 56 program, an organization must have been in business for at least three years, have revenues of $250,000 or more for the most recent 12-month period, and be owned or led by a University of South Florida alumnus.

Not only is Dealers United one of Sarasota's fastest growing companies, they are also working to contribute and grow their local community. Most recently, Dealers United and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) joined forces to create the first Digital Marketing courses offered at the University. Through this partnership, DU is working to build an interdependent and synergistic system where USF can help mold young students into the new and digital-oriented job roles that local companies desperately need. The ultimate goal is to evolve Sarasota into a Digital Marketing hotbed.

"We can't wait to see what our students will be able to accomplish with the actionable skills they are learning. We believe in educating tomorrow's future and aligning our higher education curriculum to those needs," Petersen said.
