Dedevbo invites Flamingoes duo for U20 Women's World Cup

The state leader has donated the cash gift for Christopher Danjuma's side after their win over visitors in the U20 Women's World Cup qualifier

Nigeria U20 women coach Peter Dedevbo has called up Rasheedat Ajibade and Catherine Kenneth to camp ahead of next month's Fifa U20 Women's world Cup in Papua New Guinea.

Kenneth and Ajibade who were part of the Flamingoes squad that suffered early exit from the ongoing Fifa U17 Women's World Cup, will join the Falconets to fight for a final squad place.

Coach Dedevbo disclosed that he picked the two Flamingoes duo based on their individual brilliance despite the team failed to impress at the U17 women tournament.

"I've invited two Flamingoes players. They are Catherine and Ajibade," Dedevbo told Goal.

"Based on my assessment of their team's performance in Jordan, I considered the two players were good enough to bring more competition to my team and could first for a place in the squad.

"They were convincing and impressive individually even though the team could not do well. They will resume come next week Monday," he concluded.
