Delcath Systems expands board

NEW YORK (AP) -- Pharmaceutical and medical device company Delcath Systems Inc. has appointed two new board members.

The company said Monday that Laura A. Brege and Tasos G. Konidaris have joined its board of directors. Delcath also announced that Robert B. Ladd, who served on its board since 2006, has retired.

The appointments increased the size of its board from seven to eight.

Brege worked most recently as executive vice president of corporate affairs at Onyx Pharmaceuticals. Konidaris is senior vice president and chief financial officer at Ikaria Inc., which focuses on bringing therapeutics to critically ill patients.

Shares of New York-based Delcath rose 18 cents, or 8.8 percent, to $2.17.
