A week has passed since the Toronto Raptors traded four-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan, but the fallout has continued. On Thursday, at the USA Basketball minicamp in Las Vegas, DeRozan was asked if he’d spoken to Raptors president Masai Ujiri since the trade.

“No,” he said bluntly.

A reporter followed up, asking if DeRozan plans to speak to Ujiri.

“No,” he said again.

As for the relationship as a whole? “Done,” DeRozan said. “No reason to have a relationship. … I’m done. Done. It’s just done for me.”

The trade, which was agreed upon July 18, centered around DeRozan and former San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard. San Antonio also traded Danny Green to the Raptors in exchange for Jakob Poeltl and a future first-round draft pick.

Yahoo Sports reported Ujiri informed DeRozan of the deal on the night of the trade, which reportedly caught DeRozan off guard. According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, DeRozan met with Toronto staff at NBA Summer League Las Vegas and believed he would not be traded.

So, last Friday, Ujiri apologized.

“I had a conversation with DeMar at summer league, and I really want to leave it at that,” Ujiri said. “We spoke … I think maybe my mistake was talking about what we expected going forward from him. So, not necessarily talking about a trade, but what I expect from him going forward, and I think that’s where the gap was.”

DeRozan participated in Thursday’s minicamp and spent a considerable amount of time with his new coach, Gregg Popovich. After Thursday’s comments, the situation are clear: DeRozan has turned the page.
