The Waterloo, Ontario-based company said it had profit of 8 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 9 cents per share.
The logistics provider posted revenue of $52.8 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $23.8 million, or 31 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $203.8 million.
Descartes Systems shares have climbed 2 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $21.85, a climb of 31 percent in the last 12 months.
