Did Bella Hadid Intentionally Commit a Fashion Faux Pas?

Yesterday, Bella Hadid posted a photo of herself coolly crouched on a chair in a casual look that consisted of hoops, a green sweatshirt, short-shorts, as well as some chic eyewear. The glasses were actually from her sister Gigi Hadid’s collaboration with Vogue Eyewear, which was plain to see: The tortoiseshell frames boasted a fresh-from-the-package sticker that said “Vogue.” Was the sticker a mistake? Does the younger Hadid have plans to return her sister’s 20/20 creation? Did she simply forget that it was there? Could it be that her eyesight is just that bad?

Probably not. It was likely a statement on Hadid’s part and actually was a smart marketing move. This morning, a photo wire service captioned the image: “Bella Hadid rocks new Vogue eyeglasses with the label still across the lens.” No one needed to tap for credits to figure out what label Hadid was wearing because the sticker said it all. (Not a bad move considering that glasses can be the toughest accessories to identify label-wise.) Looks like Hadid just turned a faux pas into a fashion win for her and her sister. After all, why tag the label when you can just keep the tag on?
