Long before he took over the role as Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. dated Sarah.

Their relationship started in 1984 when both stars were just 18 years-old. They met on the set of the film Firstborn.

Sarah and Robert were one of the most-talked-about couples of the 80s. With their rising film careers, the two were the talk of the gossip magazines.

In 1991, after seven years together, the couple split it. Sarah and Robert have admitted his drug addiction played a role in their split.

John F. Kennedy Jr.

Following her split with Robert Downey Jr., Sarah began dating America's favorite son, John F. Kennedy Jr.

In 1992, Sarah signed on to co-star with Nicolas Cage in the comedy film "Honeymoon in Vegas."

In the film, Sarah and Nicolas play a couple about to elope in Vegas until Nicolas loses all his money in a poker game to a professional gambler. In order to pay his debt, Cage's character agrees to let Sarah spend the weekend with the poker player. Upon realizing he made a mistake, Cage's character tries to track down Sarah and win her back.

Not only was romance playing out onscreen, but offscreen as well. Sarah and Nicolas were rumored to have dated while filming the movie. However, their relationship was short-lived and came to an end once filming was done.

Marriage to Matthew

Sarah's luck in the love department would change when she met Matthew Broderick.

In May 1997, the couple married in a small, private ceremony.

Sarah and Matthew became one of Hollywood's most-talked-about couples at the time. She was starring in the HBO series Sex and the City, and Matthew was a big star on Broadway.

In October 2002, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named James was born. Years later in June 2009, the couple added to their family when their twin daughters Marion and Tabitha were via a surrogate.

Sarah, Matthew, and their children live a quiet life in New York. Sarah and Matthew continue to keep busy in the careers, and this year the couple will celebrate their 23rd anniversary, a huge milestone for any Hollywood couple.
