LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ Dillard's Inc. (DDS) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $7.4 million.
The Little Rock, Arkansas-based company said it had profit of 27 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 56 cents per share.
The department store operator posted revenue of $1.46 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.38 billion.
Dillard's shares have increased 23 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 37 percent in the last 12 months.
