Oscar-winning "Traffic" and "Magic Mike" director Steven Soderbergh's latest project is writing a novella ... on Twitter.

It's titled "Glue" and he posted the first seven chapters of his crime mystery on Sunday.

The 50-year-old has ten previous writing credits to his name , including 1989's "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" and 2002's "Solaris."

Soderbergh hinted he was working on a new writing/Twitter project in February, telling Collider of his Tweeting habits:

"... What will happen is I build up a bunch of stuff and blow it out all at the same time. I don’t know if that’s the way you’re supposed to do it, but that’s the way it’s happening. I’m about a week away from another burst of tweets. It’s fun to have, it’s kind of like having a pseudonym, it’s kind of like being Peter Andrews, I feel I can hide behind that, which is fun."

On his unverified but confirmed account @Bitchuation, Soderbergh announced the new project to his measly 5,737 followers:

I will now attempt to tweet a novella called GLUE.

The first chapter begins in Amsterdam. The novella even includes some photos to set the scene:

It was difficult for you not to assume the worst after the way your funeral went down. The whole thing seemed like a parody of itself.

The text continues in a later chapter:

“Have another glass,” you said. She refused, and checked her watch. That’s when you spotted M shoulder his way through the door.

There is drama:

You drew your gun, and started breathing through your mouth. You called her name, softly.

And he leaves us here:

Then complete silence. Then darkness. A beat. D appeared at the door.
