Raya, which is set for release in 2020, will be a fantasy epic adventure with themes inspired by Southeast Asia.
The new animation was announced at Saturday's (August 25) Walt Disney Studios panel, introducing Raya as "a lone warrior from the fantasy kingdom of Kumandra who teams up with a crew of misfits in her quest to find the Last Dragon and bring light and unity back to their world".

Disney also announced two new members of the voice cast: Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), who plays Sisu, the Last Dragon, and Cassie Steele, who voices the lead character Raya.
