Disney scores big at box office, Sprouts Farmers Market takeover talks, Deutsche Bank raises cash

Here are some of the stocks the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

A deal may be in the works in the grocery business industry. Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM) soared in early trading after Bloomberg reported that privately held Albertsons was in talks with the organic grocer about a potential merger. A deal would add to Albertsons’ portfolio of supermarket brands, which includes Safeway, Vons and Shaws.

US-listed shares of Vodafone (VOD) are in the spotlight following news that the UK telecom firm is merging its India business with one of its top rivals in the country—Idea Cellular. The deal will create India’s largest cell phone carrier with 400 million customers.

Disney (DIS) continues to win big at the box office. The entertainment giant’s “Beauty and the Beast” rang in a whopping $170 million dollars in North American ticket sales in its opening weekend, making it the biggest box office opener so far this year and the seventh-best debut of all time.

US-listed shares of Deutsche Bank (DB) are also on our watch list this morning after Germany’s largest lender issued new shares to raise about $9 billion in fresh capital. The bank also said it slashed bonuses by 80% last year after reporting a full-year loss for the second year in a row.
