DOT Compliance Help Inc. Celebrates 10 Years in Business

ROCKFORD, IL / ACCESSWIRE / March 10, 2017 / DOT Compliance Help Inc., a DOT transportation consulting company, celebrated their ten year anniversary on March 8, 2017 - and they say they are just getting warmed up.

DOT Compliance Help, Inc. (DCH) provides safety consulting for individual companies and members of management, usually at or near the customer's place of business.

Started in the Elgin-Carpentersville area, this family-owned business expanded their offices to Rockford, IL in 2014. Owned by Mike and Julie England, the business works with companies all over the United States that use trucks to deliver a service for any reason in various industries.

This includes trucking companies but, primarily, DCH helps companies that are involved in other industries, such as bus companies, oil field services, construction, fuel haulers, manufacturers, farmers, and grocery wholesalers.

"People know how to make glass bottles, trucks, or jet engines, or how to import toys, clothes, auto parts, or something, or how to grow or process food, but when they have to use a truck to keep their business going, they sometimes need help understanding the DOT safety regulations," Mike England explains.

"If you have a truck with a gross vehicle weight that is more than 10,000 pounds and you are involved in interstate commerce," England states, "you are required to know and follow all the rules contained in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. That's a book more than an inch thick, and most people are scared to death of the book and the agency that enforces the rules."

Before starting the company, England was involved in management with several companies that used commercial motor vehicles (trucks) from about 1988 to 2004. He then took a job conducting safety audits for the FMCSA, until "taking the plunge" and starting his own company in 2007.

"While working as an investigator," England says, "I realized I could either be the bad guy, the enforcer, or I could help people. I decided I preferred helping people, so I left that position so I could do just that."

DCH puts on monthly DOT seminars to train operators and business owners. "Typically, we have one or two 4-day DOT seminars per month," states Julie England. "It depends on how busy we are helping individual customers with things and how quickly these events fill up."

DOT Compliance Help, Inc. has worked with almost 6,000 companies over the last 10 years and looks forward to the next 10 years.
