Dow up triple digits as stocks halt Brexit selloff

Stocks rebound from Brexit lows as the Dow jumps triple digits. But is the uncertainty finally behind us? Catch The Final Round at 4 p.m. with Jen Rogers and markets correspondent Nicole Sinclair.

Winners and losers

Stocks missing out on today's rebound include DuPont on a JPMorgan downgrade, Regulus Therapeutics tumbling after the FDA put its hepatitis C treatment on clinical hold, and Dow Chemical — with shares taking a dip after the company revealed it would cut 2500 jobs as it takes full ownership of the Dow Corning joint venture.

Stocks on the move higher today include digital marketing company ReachLocal on its merger with Gannett, Cigna as Stifel Nicolaus initiated coverage with a buy rating, and SolarCity shares up after Elon Musk's solar systems maker formed a special committee to evaluate Tesla's takeover bid. The panel's creation is seeking to avoid any potential conflicts of interest between the two companies.

Robots to take ALL of our jobs?

And it's not just blue collar workers ... lawyers, journalists, and health care providers are already seeing robots increasingly doing their jobs. For more on the impact of the robot revolution, we were joined by Martin Ford, author of the book "Rise of the Robots," now out in paperback.

Looking ahead

  • In the morning we'll get a key piece of economic data, personal income and outlays for May. Included is the Fed's preferred measure of inflation, the Core P-C-E index, which was up 1.6% in the prior month.
  • Later in the day energy traders will be eagerly awaiting the E-I-A's crude inventory report. Last week we saw another drawdown of 900,000 barrels.
  • Finally, in London, the world's largest gem qaulity rough diamond in existence will be auctioned. Estimated to pull in $70 million, the 1,109 carat Lesedi La Rona is the size of a tennis ball and is believed to be over 3 billion years old. Lesedi la Rona means "Our Light" in a native language spoken in Botswana.
