Dunkin' Brands names Sparks as a board member

CANTON, Mass. (AP) -- Dunkin' Brands Group Inc., which runs Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, has named the president and CEO of Travelocity Global as a board member.

The appointment of Carl Sparks, 45, is effective July 26.

In May, Dunkin' Brands announced that Chairman Jon Luther was retiring that month. He was succeeded by CEO Nigel Travis.

Dunkin' Brands, which is based in Canton, Mass., had more than 10,500 Dunkin' Donuts shops and more than 7,000 Baskin-Robbins locations at the first quarter's end.

Its shares finished at $44.01 on Tuesday.
