Dyson is a major player in the world of vacuums, which means its cleaners are pretty pricey. When you have appliances that can run without cords and easily maneuver through furniture, it's easy to see why Dyson vacuums can be so expensive. Fortunately, the developer is offering two of its acclaimed models for helpful price cuts.

The V8 Animal and V8 Absolute models are all available at Dyson's e-commerce site for $50 off. The V8 Absolute, usually priced at $499.99, is now available for $449.99. Meanwhile, the V8 Animal is down from $449.99 to $399.99.

While we haven't tested the V8 Animal, the V8 Absolute impressed our testers, ranking among the best Dyson vacuums and best cordless vacuums we've ever tried. The V8 Absolute, at only 5.6 pounds, is also one of our favorite lightweight vacuums. In our testing, the V8 picked up 88% of the dirt we put down, besting some of the larger corded vacuums we've tried. The model comes with a powered brush head designed for hardwood floors, a motorized mini brush for cleaning upholstery, a crevice tool and more.
According to Dyson, the V8 Animal lives up to its namesake by being best at capturing pet hair and dander trapped in carpets. Though it only comes with one direct drive cleaner head while the Absolute has both a direct drive and soft roller cleaner head, the Animal still has a mini motorized tool, crevice tool, combination tool and mini soft dusting brush to vacuum floors, corners, furniture and car seats. It also has a battery that holds 40 minutes of charge that can be recharged on a wall-mounted docking station.
Whatever you pick, both models are top-tier vacuums at a great price. Be sure to shop fast, because we don't see this deal sticking around.
