STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. (EGLE) on Monday reported a second-quarter loss of $6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had a loss of 8 cents.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.
The shipping company posted revenue of $69.4 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $48.5 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $4.67. A year ago, they were trading at $5.46.
