DALLAS (AP) _ Eagle Materials Inc. (EXP) on Thursday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $127.8 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Dallas-based company said it had a loss of $2.82 per share. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to 87 cents per share.
The maker of gypsum wallboard and cement posted revenue of $284.7 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $68.9 million, or $1.47 per share. Revenue was nearly unchanged at $1.39 billion.
Eagle Materials shares have risen 45% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 18% in the last 12 months.
