AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Natural and organic grocery chain Whole Foods Market Inc. reported Wednesday that its fiscal first-quarter profit jumped 24 percent on stronger revenue. But the company narrowed its revenue forecast and said its earnings growth may slow through the remainder of the fiscal year as it faces higher store-opening costs and plans to increase the number of lower-priced products in its stores to remain competitive with other grocers.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Mondelez International Inc. dropped in after-hours trading Wednesday after the maker Oreo, Cadbury and Nabisco reported a fourth-quarter profit that fell short of Wall Street expectations.

ARDSLEY, N.Y. (AP) -- Acorda Therapeutics Inc. said Wednesday that its net income surged in the fourth quarter because of a one-time tax benefit worth $132.7 million.

ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) -- MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. on Wednesday posted a narrower four-quarter loss and beat analysts' expectations on an adjusted basis.

CHARGED UP: Duke Energy's fourth-quarter earnings beat analysts' expectations as electric rates rose and more extreme weather increased demand for power. Net income was $435 million, or 62 cents per share.

PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) -- Cargo airline and aircraft leasing company Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. said Wednesday its fourth-quarter net income jumped 56 percent, as the company added aircraft to its fleets.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Hospira Inc. said Wednesday it turned a profit in the fourth quarter after taking a large loss a year ago, when it wrote down the value of two of its overseas divisions.
