Ed Reed, one of Miami’s most distinguished football alums, is on the sideline for the seventh-ranked Hurricanes’ game against No. 3 Notre Dame.

His alma mater made him proud early on.

After Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush was intercepted by Miami’s Jaquan Johnson, Reed, a surefire Hall of Fame safety, was shown on the ABC broadcast rocking a turnover chain much like the one the Canes have been wearing throughout the year.

All season long, Miami defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has given out a chain to one of his players whenever they force a turnover. Johnson got to don the chain for a second week in a row after this interception on a tipped ball.

After the interception, he made a beeline right for Diaz and the chain.

The turnover chain has become one of the coolest things of the 2017 college football season as the undefeated Hurricanes continue their march to the College Football Playoff.
