ROSEMEAD, Calif. (AP) _ Edison International (EIX) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $502 million.
On a per-share basis, the Rosemead, California-based company said it had profit of $1.35. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.49 per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.53 per share.
The electric power provider posted revenue of $3.74 billion in the period.
Edison International expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.70 to $4.90 per share.
Edison International shares have climbed 15% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 21%. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $65.40, a fall of slightly more than 5% in the last 12 months.
