EGShares Shuttered Four ETFs

Emerging Global Advisors, the exchange traded funds issuer behind a lineup of all emerging markets ETFs, recently closed four ETFs, including three that launched earlier this year.

Tuesday Sept. 30 was the last trading day for the EGShares TCW EM Short Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (SEMF) , EGShares TCW EM Intermediate Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (IEMF) , and EGShares TCW EM Long Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (LEMF) .

Those ETFs launched in early January via a partnership between EGShares and California-based mutual fund provider TCW. EGShares also closed the EGShares China Infrastructure ETF (CHXX) .

The firm still issues the EGShares Brazil Infrastructure Index Fund (BRXX) and the EGShares India Infrastructure ETF (INXX) .

The four ETFs closed by EGShares represent less than 1% of the firm’s assets under management, according to a release issued by the company. IEMF, LEMF and SEMF represented TCW’s first foray into the ETF space. The company has several successful emerging markets bond mutual funds.

Earlier this week, Global X said it is closing the Global X Canada Preferred ETF (CNPF) and the Global X Pure Gold Miners ETF (GGGG) . In August, BlackRock’s (BLK) iShares unit, the world’s largest issuer of exchange traded funds, said itwill close 18 of its ETFs, including 10 target date ETFs. ALPS and PIMCO also announced four ETF closures apiece in August. [These ETFs are Closing]

Just over 50 ETFs have been closed this year. Seventy U.S.-listed exchange traded products were closed last year.

Well-known EGShares ETFs include the EGShares Emerging Markets Consumer ETF (ECON) and the EGShares Beyond BRICs ETF (BBRC) .
