El Paso-Based Providers Launch Mountain Star Clinically Integrated Network

·3 min read

Network of local providers to improve patient health outcomes through greater access to care coordination

A prestigious group of El Paso-based physicians today announced the launch of Mountain Star Clinically Integrated Network ("Mountain Star CIN" or "the CIN"), which was created to improve patient health outcomes through enhanced care coordination between providers.

Through Mountain Star CIN, which is managed by CareAllies, patients will receive extensively tailored care plans by a comprehensive network of providers who will collaborate to improve health outcomes. Patients will have access to a robust team of providers, including primary care and access to specialists. By ensuring that all providers have access to data and information about the nuances of their patient’s health status, the CIN can provide a cohesive treatment plan, which will result in better health outcomes at a lower cost.

"By creating Mountain Star CIN, we are committing to support the local community at a deeper level by providing more connected, coordinated care to our patients," said Dr. Manuel Padilla, Program Committee Member at Mountain Star CIN. "As health care continues to become more complex and costly, we are constantly seeking ways to improve the experience patients have while also finding ways to keep costs down. Mountain Star CIN is the latest step we are taking to achieve these goals for El Paso."

In addition to providing greater access to data, Mountain Star CIN will also support local providers as they move into alternative payment models, such as pay-for-quality or shared savings. Mountain Star CIN is setting up providers for long term success by enabling providers to select which health plans they will participate in, while still accessing resources to improve patient outcomes.

The new CIN will also support providers with:

  • Embedded care teams that will include nurses and pharmacists to ensure enhanced care coordination for patients

  • An expanded network of providers, including specialists, to ensure high-quality outcomes

  • A team to support administrative and management needs so providers can focus on clinical health outcomes for patients

"Cost and health outcomes are the key concerns for all patients right now," said Dr. Hector Lopez, Program Committee Member at Mountain Star. "By gathering this group of local providers who know and understand the community and then adding in more data and access to specialists, we can ensure that we are giving patients the greatest amount of care at the best price possible."

Providers interested in participating in the Mountain Star CIN, please contact (915) 599-0925 for more information.
