COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) _ El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. (LOCO) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $14.1 million.
On a per-share basis, the Costa Mesa, California-based company said it had net income of 37 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 23 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.
The Tex-Mex fast food chain posted revenue of $113.7 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $114 million.
El Pollo Loco expects full-year earnings in the range of 69 cents to 72 cents per share.
El Pollo Loco shares have decreased 35% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $9.79, a decrease of 14% in the last 12 months.
