MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) _ Elastic NV (ESTC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $41.8 million in its fiscal first quarter.
The Mountain View, California-based company said it had a loss of 56 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 32 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 42 cents per share.
The software developer posted revenue of $89.7 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $83.2 million.
For the current quarter ending in November, Elastic expects its results to range from a loss of 32 cents per share to a loss of 30 cents per share.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $95 million to $97 million for the fiscal second quarter.
Elastic expects full-year results to range from a loss of $1.40 per share to a loss of $1.24 per share, with revenue ranging from $406 million to $412 million.
