Elizabeth, NJ Continues Its Traditions for Portugal Day, Virtually

Continuing its legacy by parading the streets of Elizabeth on the first Sunday in June, Portugal Day will warm the hearts of the community by celebrating its Portuguese history and heritage virtually. On June 7th, 2020 at 1 pm, experience one of the largest Portuguese celebrations on the East Coast by honoring Portugal's rich culture with family and friends.

ELIZABETH, N.J., June 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Portugal Day Parade in Elizabeth is recognized as the one of oldest running Portuguese parades in the state of New Jersey. Portugal Day is an anticipated event because of its commitment to demonstrating Portuguese heritage within American diverse culture. This year, the traditionally held outdoor-festival will showcase the event to the community virtually along with having different organizations, clubs, and institutions that share their heritage and pride with! Since 1978, the Portugal Day Committee has diligently planned and organized the grand parade that brings in thousands of families and friends together. Bringing together Portuguese organizations, dance groups like the "Ranchos," and others from across the state of New Jersey, and even some that travel typically from Massachusetts will miss the parade and outdoor event this year and have to view the virtual event from social media.
