Elizabeth Warren won't trust AG Barr's judgment on Mueller report until she sees it
On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) responded to Attorney General William Barr’s summary of the Mueller report. In the report, Mueller concluded that there was no conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, but was unable to determine one way or the other if Donald Trump committed obstruction of justice. That decision was left up to Barr, who, along with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, came to the conclusion that there was insufficient evidence of a crime. But Warren would like to decide for herself and echoed her earlier call to make the full report public.

When Colbert asked if she trusts Barr’s judgment on the matter, Warren replied, “No. No, and you shouldn’t have to ask me if I trust it. We should see the whole report. When we see the whole report, we’ll know what the basis is for the decision. Period.”
Warren isn’t the only one calling for the Mueller report to be made public. The entire House of Representatives voted to make it public, and several of her fellow 2020 candidates have made statements that share her sentiment on the report.
The Mueller report needs to be made public, the underlying investigative materials should be handed over to Congress, and Barr must testify. That is what transparency looks like. A short letter from Trump’s hand-picked Attorney General is not sufficient.

But nobody knows yet if the report will ever see the light of day.
“What do you think the odds are that we’re gonna get to see it?” Colbert asked. “I don’t know,” Warren replied, “but if we don’t see it, then millions of people around this country are gonna keep asking, ‘What’s in it that nobody wants us to see?’”
