ALHAMBRA, Calif. (AP) _ Emcore Corp. (EMKR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $5.5 million in its fiscal first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Alhambra, California-based company said it had a loss of 20 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 9 cents per share.
The maker of components for communications gear and solar panels posted revenue of $24 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in April, Emcore said it expects revenue in the range of $21 million to $23 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $4.59. A year ago, they were trading at $5.60.
