ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Emergent BioSolutions Inc. said Monday that it has appointed Robert Kramer as its new chief financial officer.
The company's current chief financial officer, R. Don Elsey, is leaving the pharmaceutical company after seven years there for a new job at a private healthcare company.
Emergent said that Kramer will take on his added role Dec. 3. Kramer is currently executive vice president of the corporate services division. With this appointment, his title will become executive vice president of the corporate services division and chief financial officer.
Kramer first joined Emergent in 1999 and served in various executive positions until his retirement in 2010. He then served in a consulting capacity and in interim positions before returning to the company in 2012 in a permanent position.
Emergent BioSolutions, based in Rockville, Md., provides specialty pharmaceutical products such as the anthrax vaccine.
