Emerging Markets Report: What’s In a Name?

ORLANDO, FL / ACCESSWIRE / July 30, 2019 / For many public companies racing to stake their claim in the rapidly expanding cannabis market, their operations are more business plan than actual business, a glossy promise for tomorrow but no real traction in the space. Many investors, some new to the investing game, struggle to discern the players from the wannabes as transparency can be hard to find and replaced by a good lookin’ website full of big ideas. But for companies like High Tide Inc. (HITI.CN) (HITIF) there are some significant big name marks of distinction that help the investing public discern a difference.

High Tide sets its business apart from others in the space by partnering with a large amount of celebrities, icons and brands to usher to market an array of cannabis products. The Alberta -based, retail-focused cannabis corporation just announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Famous Brandz Inc. recently signed its 9th license agreement with I.P.L. for access to various categories of its large Radio Days inventory of original images featuring historical celebrities, motion pictures, music albums, comics and other popular culture artwork. The Radio Days License grants Famous Brandz the right to reproduce and sell smoking accessories… bongs, containers, grinders, pipes, trays and vaporizers, to specialty retailers and distributors across North America over a term of 30 months.

This adds to a deep catalog of celebrity relationships already in-house. Famous Brandz has begun the process of designing and producing a wide range of smoking accessories and cannabis lifestyle products featuring classic images of rock stars, pin-ups, sirens, horror movie characters and more as well as epic brands like Snoop Dogg Pounds, Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke, Trailer Park Boys, Sublime and Guns N' Roses.

But these household names are more than just a gateway to monetization for High Tide. These relationships help to make the aforementioned distinction between the dreamers and the doers. Celebrity relationships are normally procured through experienced agents and agencies who are in place to vet the associations and partners. High Tides’ Famous Brandz’ ability to close these deals and secure these relationships speaks highly of their enterprise.

Ultimately, High Tide will have to execute and leverage these top-shelf associations into revenue and profits. But it goes without saying that very few companies could get to where High Tide now is in this tremendous cannabis opportunity.
