DALLAS (AP) _ Energy Transfer Partners L.P. (ETP) on Wednesday reported a loss of $458 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Dallas-based company said it had a loss of $1.47. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 7 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 20 cents per share.
The natural gas storage and transportation company posted revenue of $6.53 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.71 billion.
For the year, the company reported net income of $297 million, or $2.06 per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $21.83 billion.
Energy Transer Parners shares have increased 6 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $38.03, a rise of 23 percent in the last 12 months.
